When I walked into this home I was struck simultaneously with two first impressions. The first thought was how lovely the home was- full of natural light and decorated to perfection- I was definitely excited to shoot here. My second thought was how very calm it was.
You see, I knew I was coming to photograph a newborn and her big brother who are very close in age. Most of the time a home with two children, under two-years-old, is a little … for lack of a better word, exciting:) There are so many wonderful things that come from having two children close in age, but a calm house is generally not one of them:) That being said, this family just oozed with peacefulness. Even with a rambunctious little guy running around the space was just so mellow.
Who knows how long the calm will last, and maybe it is already gone, but during our session, the house was very relaxed. Baby girl was a dream to work with. Big brother? Well, he had other plans and they didn’t really involve taking pictures:) We distracted him and had some fun and did what we could, and honestly, I love what we were able to capture. If I have said it once, I have said it 1,000 times (or more!) I LOVE shooting in clients homes. To me there is nothing more natural.
